Revisional Bariatric Surgery
This procedure consists of a patient who has been previously submitted to a bariatric surgery. The main reasons for revisional surgeries are:
- Significant weight gain
- Less than expected weight reduction
- Secondary complications to the previous procedure.
Revision surgery is a procedure with a high degree of technical difficulty on account of the scar tissue formed by the previous surgery. Although most of it is performed laparoscopically, there is a risk of conversion to a larger open incision to complete the procedure.
